Each year Arwons Little Angels celebrates book week, literacy and a love of reading by inviting children to dress up as their favourite character. The children are encouraged to bring in their favourite book and we take turns reading each-others favourite stories. The educators get into the spirit, donning their favourite character costume, and sharing their own favourite stories too.

On Father's Day we invited Fathers, Grandfathers, Uncles and Guardians to visit the service for some afternoon tea and activities. We had a sausage sizzle and the children enjoyed some fun experiences with their Dads, such as wood work with nails and screws, decorating ties, and making paper planes.

Our service delivers play-based educational programs based on developmental milestones, children's interests, skills, and the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0.

We pride ourselves on our engaging learning experiences, promoting holistic development for children. We invite children to join in art and craft activities, sensory play, cooking experiences, gardening, natural exploration, roleplay and to engage with technology, just to name a few. All of these experiences promote children's sense of wonder, confidence, curiosity and their desire to learn.

Our service caters for children from 6 weeks of age in our nursery room. Children in this room are invited to engage with cooking experiences, art and craft, sensory play, and other physically challenging experiences, to promote their early development. Our nurturing educators develop strong relationships with these children, following their individual routines, and develop an educational program for them based upon their developmental milestones, interests and skills.

We have a very natural outdoor play space, with deciduous trees that drop leaves in autumn and provide natural resources for children's play. We have worms in our compost which children love to collect and investigate. We have a fort, a large sand pit, and a range of resources such as equipment for climbing and balancing, balls, hopping sacks, and a see-saw, to promote children's physical development.

Arwons Little Angels is home to bearded dragon named Khaleesi and 4 budgies. The children help to care for, feed and nurture our resident animals to teach them about empathy and caring for living things. We also have lots of visitors from wildlife, including a blue tongue lizard, kookaburras and other birds, and mini beasts such as snails and worms, educating children about our local fauna and environment.

Our service enjoys celebrating cultural holidays. For Easter this year we invited our families along for afternoon tea. We shared hot cross buns and children showed off their Easter art work. The children enjoyed stopping for a photo opportunity with our Easter Bunny window decoration.

Our service regularly participates in incursions. So far this year the children have had visits from TapStar, King and Queen of Green and Stella Studios. TapStar is a water conservation show, educating children about being water wise and about the importance of not wasting water. King and Queen of Green teaches children about sustainability and recycling. Stella Studios is a music program which teaches children about various musical instruments and encourages engagement with a range of styles of music.

What a terrific day! The children and staff had a great time at Arwon's Little Angels when Hefner came to visit with his little friends. All the children had the chance to have their pictures taken and enjoyed a pat with Hef and the baby goats! A big thanks to Robert Fletcher from Fletcher's Farm who educated the children about Alpacas and the importance of the raising Alpacas, their Wool, and their and well being.

Robert and Hefner are well known for their charity work and are often seen in children’s and aged care hospitals sharing the love with disadvantaged people and children.

We Love you Robert and Hef and thank you so much!

What a fun day we all had! The children made lots of cakes, fresh fruit and lots of yummy treats for mums and all to enjoy. Thanks mums, grandparents and kids for a lovely day it’s so nice to catch up with you all, happy days ahead!

What a great day we have all had today, and couldn’t have picked a better day! We are so sad to see our darling little ones go to big school, but so proud they have graduated with honours!

Mums and Dads were so happy to see the zoom of the whole procession and the children couldn’t be happier, I have to say the girls and Lesley did a wonderful job on preparing the day and now we look forward to the 17th December where the children will enjoy a Christmas party at the centre - Santa will be there, also and just maybe a few 4-legged elves!

Sorry mums and dads you didn’t get to come in but at least photos were taken in the foyer for those who attended to pick the children up.

Let's all hope this Covid situation is better next year.
